almost based on a real life decision I once had to make... it was a highschool scandal and I was forced to... "destroy"...

Panel 7 absolutely shocked me! This feels like the type of stuff you wouldn't see without an event to motivate it. Earns a favorite for being my favorite page in the first competition.

SO SAD! D8 BUT IT IS A NECESSARY SACRIFICE IN ORDER TO WIN!

Skieve's expression as you tear up her sketchbook cracks me up :XD: (Though I probably do the same thing as well... along with yelling, screaming with a follow up of throttling, hah)

And this mention of a highschool sandal intrigues me... Search and destroy missions are fun! But no scandals!! ACK!

If you care to share, sure! Otherwise I don't want to pry! I'm just curious as to what kind of situations could lead to an outcome like that. That is unless it is something you wrote and gave to another person who was then going to show it off but other then that scenario, I have no clue.

you pretty much nailed it on the head. what happened was that I was practicing drawing girls in class one day and a class mate asked me for a pinup of Rikku from FFX-2 in a bikini. said she wanted to hang it in her room cause she likes that character so much...

so I made the sketch and gave it to her (it was one of my best Rikku's at the time, too.)

next thing I knew a few classes later, there was a whole babble with laughter and mean comments coming from a group circling the girl who was showing the drawing off. she had erased the bikini and added detailed naked parts to the drawing. the basic scandal was to make me look like a, and I quote from translation, "a total slut artist"

next thing I knew I shoved the girl to the ground, grabbed the drawing, and tore it up in so many pieces so fast you would swear it was put in a food blender.

needless to say I stopped drawing in class for the rest of the year, and was even contemplating flunking arts class just so I didn't draw in school. I didn't flunk arts class though. and by the end of the year the girl transferred to another school and I was free to do as I wished.

this incident is also why I never give or sell my art locally. only super close family members get anything from me as a gift.

Oh my gosh. I did you not, I drew Rikku from FFX-2 in seventh grade for someone. (It was based on this picture but it was right u I did it in ink so that couldn't happen but basically my teachers saw it and said something along the lines: That's skimpy. And I felt so embarrassed because I totally do not dress like that or encourage it. So I took back the picture I gave my classmate and whited it out and then drew her shorts as coming up higher, covering up her bellybutton.

But oh my gosh, what a sicko girl. As the artist of the picture I say you did the right thing. That'd be like taking the Mona Lisa and painting her shirt as open. Seriously. What an evil girl.

 I'm sorry that happened. What a horrible girl, seriously. I say you did the right thing. That was inappropriate in the first place and another it was making you look bad.

That...abolutely reeks. I've met people of that nature in high school, although I have never heard of an incident quite so freaking horrible. Glad you were able to get rid of the drawing. Man, that reeks so bad. Major sympathy, Waz. :( I'm glad it didn't get you down so bad that you flunked your class, though. Afer all, you are a fabulous artist, and other people being jerks shouldn't be allowed to put a stop to that! ^^

thanks. it was a bad situation, and it burns me that I had to tear up my own drawing. (thinking about it later, I could have just erased and redrawn it and kept it... but I was so shocked, that I reacted faster then my brain could keep up)

in the end, it all turned out fine. I just learned to read people better when art is concerned. as evidently and sadly, it's worth nothing here.

but that's why I love dA so much! it lets me be and artist however I like :) and there are people here who truly appreciate my work.
