Yeah, teddy bears are weird now. Most of them are always in a fixed sitting "hug me" position with a smile on their face.
By the way, he's not the only stuffed animal I have. I used to have a crapload more, but they're gone unfortunately. One of the surviving ones is a stuffed dog that I based the puppies' appearance off of. And his name is Dookie.
Also, remember when I asked for that Totoro picture? Yeah, I just wanted you to draw him without any irony. By the time I figured out what you were doing, it was too late.
well, Totaro is about the only Ghibli film along with Kikio's Delivery Service that I haven't watched yet. so I really have no context on that character.
but yeah, most stuffed animals these days are either too fixed or too complicated and stuffed to the point that they aren't cuddly anymore.
I grew up with 6 stuffed animals that I still own to this day. a mouse, a bear, a cat and 3 rabbits. all of them gifted for special occasions. but my favorite is the bear, "Heartly". which is a semi-classic styled white bear with hearts for paw pads (hence the name, he also went sometimes as Sir Hearts-a-lot). I got him when I had an eye operation at 4-years-old.
