Nutmeg the Bunny

Quickwit got sick on his third day with me. he stopped eating and was suffering from serious gastric pains. and unfortunately, there are no vets here or I would have done everything I could to save him. he died on his fifth day (last Monday).

I had the evening shift, so after I buried him in the back yard, I went to work feeling very down and upset.

and when I came home, I found this beautiful little girl waiting for me. my brothers felt really bad that I lost Wit and took my mom out to pick a new bunny for me. so mom picked out Nutmeg. a lovely little golden angel with the most diva personality. she's doing really great and eating so healthily that she gained her lush fur and round belly over the week, compared to her thin and malnourished state when she came from the animal district.

today was her first romp through the yard. she ran around all over the place, nibbling on the grass and stealing a few bites from the turtle food left out. but she always came back to get a reassuring scratch on the forehead and cheeks. I love this little Nut
